To Art Is Human: Why I Created a Podcast About Creative Courage
Discover the heart behind To Art Is Human, a podcast that celebrates creativity as a vital part of being human. In this post, I share why I started the show, what it stands for, and how it's helping people reconnect with their creative courage—one conversation at a time.

In a world obsessed with perfection, productivity, and metrics, To Art Is Human was born as a radical act of softness. It’s more than a podcast—it's a lifeline for anyone who's ever felt the tug of creativity but didn’t know where to begin, or who forgot how good it felt to make something just because.
I created To Art Is Human because I know what it’s like to wrestle with your gifts. To wonder if your ideas are good enough. To shelve them until “someday.” I also know the magic that happens when someone gives you permission—not to be perfect, but to be real.
Through intimate conversations with artists, professionals, and creative souls from all walks of life, the podcast explores one big idea: that the act of creating is an act of being alive. Whether you’re an HR director rediscovering painting, a retired nurse picking up poetry, or a full-time illustrator feeling burned out, this space is for you.
A Rising Tide Lifts All Ships
The heart of this project is rooted in connection. It’s about sharing the mic. Each episode offers a candid, often vulnerable look at the creative process—what fuels it, what blocks it, and what heals it. Guests have included composers, activists, entrepreneurs, teachers, and daydreamers who remind us that we’re all making art in some way, even if we don’t call it that.
Why It Matters
To Art Is Human is here to:
Demystify creativity
Champion originality over perfection
Make people feel less alone in their artistic journey
Encourage small, sustainable acts of expression—even in the midst of burnout, career shifts, or personal transformation
I wanted to create a platform that didn’t talk down to people, but rather with them. One that embraced the weird, the wise, and the wonderfully unfinished.
What’s Next
As the podcast grows, I’m working to build an ecosystem that includes community events, coaching, pop-ups, and partnerships with eco-conscious brands and mental wellness spaces. The long-term vision? A creative network that reminds people—gently, consistently, and boldly—that their voice matters.
Because to art… is to be human.
